2024年度『第9回北のまんが大賞』入賞作品発表
道と札幌市では、新たなクリエーターや作品の誕生を支援するとともに、北海道の魅力発信につなげることを目的に、まんが・イラストの公募コンテスト「北のまんが大賞」を実施しています。
9回目となる今回は、まんが・イラスト共に北海道を素材に含む未発表のオリジナル作品のほか、応募作品の活用予定を示した「推奨題材」として、まんが部門では「北の小児医療」、イラスト部門では「道内消防団への入団促進」、「守ろう！北海道のきれいな海」、「知床世界自然遺産」、「魅力ある札幌の文化財」をテーマとした作品を募集しました。
いがらしゆみこ先生をはじめとする漫画家の方々や、北海道を代表するイラストレータの佐藤正人先生などによる選考の結果、次のとおり入賞作品が決定しました。

～あらすじと総評～
保健所で働く主人公が、日々発生する緊急業務に奔走する中で、徐々に成長していく。
丁寧な絵と適切なコマ割り、テンポの良いストーリー展開で、保健所の多岐にわたる業務のやりがいや大変さが良く伝わってくると審査員から高い評価を受けました。
This story follows the protagonist’s growth as he handles emergency operations at his workplace, a Public Health Center.
The judges praised its neat illustrations, appropriate panel layout, and well-paced story, which succeeded in expressing the ups and downs of daily life at a Public Health Center.
札幌市長賞
『僕と雪だるま』 アライン（岡山県）
Snowman and Me / Aline (Okayama Prefecture)
～あらすじと総評～
学校に馴染めず悩む主人公が不思議な少年と出会う。一緒に雪遊びをするうちに少しずつ気持ちに変化が・・・・。
絵、画面構成、テンポ、いずれも上手に描かれており、笑い合う楽しげな表情が大変清々しく、青春感あふれる作品になっていると審査員から高い評価を受けました。
The protagonist’s worries about fitting in at school begin to change when he meets a peculiar boy out in the snow…
The judges gave this piece a positive review for its skillful drawings, panel layout, and tempo. A refreshing story of youth filled with smiles and laughter.

～あらすじと総評～
医者としてのあるべき姿に悩んでいた女子医学生が、旅行先で緊急分娩に巻き込まれたことをきっかけに、新たな決意を固める。
医療現場のリアルが専門知識に基づき、細かい部分までしっかり描き込まれており、非常に説得力があると審査員から評価されました。
Unsure of her future, a female medical student is filled with renewed determination after being flung into a case of emergency childbirth while on vacation.
This piece was praised by the judges for the precise details of its true-to-reality depiction of medical service based on the author’s expertise of medical science.

～あらすじと総評～
ある朝、主人公が窓の外を見るとそこにはガラの悪いシマエナガの姿が。そこから繰り広げられるドタバタ劇。
シマエナガのキャラのバリエーションとテンポの良いギャグがよく合っていて楽しい作品に仕上がっていると審査員から評価をされました。
One day, as the protagonist looks out of the window, she’s met by a scary-looking Shimaenaga (a long-tailed tit): thus begins this knockabout comedy.
The judges enjoyed the fun combination of the wide range of personalities Shimaenaga exhibits and the well-paced comedic scenes.

～あらすじと総評～
ワインで有名な北海道・池田町。この池田町で、どのようにしてワインができたのか、二人の小学生が「ワイン町長」とともにその秘密を探る冒険に出かける。
絵も構成もしっかりしており、とても面白く勉強になる作品で、是非、子供に読んでもらいたいと審査員から評価されました。
Ikeda Town, Hokkaido, is known for its wines. Two elementary students go on an adventure to unveil the secret of how this town came to produce wines, accompanied by the Mayor of the Wine Town.
Skillfully drawn and structured, this piece was highly recommended for children by the judges.

独特な雰囲気と迫力のあるキャラクターの絵とは対照的な微笑ましいストーリーが、高いオリジナリティを感じられると審査員から評価されました。
Life in a Hokkaido winter, squeezed into four-panel strips, presented by three students from the early Showa period.
The warm, comedic, highly original plot and the vivid contrast between its unique atmosphere and powerful character drawings drew praise from judges.

アトピー、がん、パーキンソン病の３つの病気を、分かりやすく４コマで説明。
11歳という年齢で、このテーマに取り組んだことや、可愛いイラストで病気の特徴をよくとらえている点が審査員から評価されました。
This four-panel comic strip breaks down the conditions of atopic eczema, cancer, and Parkinson’s disease in an easy-to-understand way.
The judges praised the eleven-year-old authors ability to tackle such difficult themes, as well as the cute illustrations which capture the distinct features of each condition.

～あらすじと総評～
病院へ行くのが嫌で家を飛び出し、ある森へと迷い込んだ病弱な少年。そこでの経験を通して少年は・・・。
可愛らしい絵柄ながらもミステリアスで緊迫感のある演出となっていて、大人になった主人公を病弱な少年と同一人物であると理解させる画力にも将来性を感じると審査員から評価されました。
Afraid of the hospital, a poorly boy runs away from home and into a forest. His experiences there change his life forever…
Cute illustrations. A mysterious and tense story. The creator’s potential as a manga artist can be seen in the clean visual connection between the poorly child and his grown-up self.

～あらすじと総評～
魔法使いの「のん」と、人の姿になった札幌時計台「時計台ちゃん」が力を合わせて悪党「聡」と闘う、豪快なバトルアクションもの。
オリジナリティに溢れたストーリーで、キャラの多彩な表情が感情を分かりやすく表現しており、コマ割りやセリフにもセンスを感じると審査員から評価されました。
Non, a witch, and Miss Little Clock Tower, the human incarnation of Sapporo Clock Tower, team up to combat a villain named Satoshi. A dynamic battle manga filled with fight scenes.
The judges noted the highly original plot, the communicative facial expressions of the characters, and the artistic sense the author shows in their panel layout and character lining.
