In Churui, 47 pieces of fossil bones accounting for 70-80% of the complete skeleton of a Naumann elephant was unearthed. It is very rare that fossil bones corresponding to almost the entire body are discovered at one time. Twenty-two restored skeletons of Naumann elephant fossils excavated in this area are displayed at museums in and outside Japan
