The Akaiwa family, who settled in the present Tadoshi area of Fukagawa, dedicated the lion dance to the Tadoshi Shrine. The dance is said to originate in their home community of Inotani, Kamitaira Village, Higashitonami-gun, Toyama. It is designated by the Fukagawa City as an intangible cultural asset along with the Shojo Jishi Godan Kuzushimai and Osamunai-cho Shojo Jishimai dances.
