Hobetsu Araki Ryu (plesiosaurus)

Hobetsu Araki Ryu (plesiosaurus)

The bones of most body parts and some front and back fins of Hobetsu Araki Ryu, popularly known as “Hoppy,” were collected in the Hobetsu area. The systemic skeleton of a plesiosaurus (total length of 8 m) is the second sample found in Japan after those of Futaba Suzuki Ryu discovered in Fukushima in 1968.
