Clothes brought from other regions and worn by Ainu people as such include those called Santan garments and Ezo Nishiki garments in Japanese. These were originally worn by officials of China’s Qing dynasty and were introduced to Hokkaido from today’s northeastern China and Russia’s Primorskii region via trade with Sakhalin.
